ABOUT ME

Shannon McCarthy is a writer, educator, and community organizer.

Shannon McCarthy is a writer and educator living in South County, RI. A passionate advocate for students with learning differences, she is the Director of Admissions at Middlebridge School in Narragansett. Shannon received her MFA in Writing from Lindenwood University, where she served as an editorial assistant for The Lindenwood Review. She is the founder and co-facilitator of the South County Writers Group, a community writing group for writers of all ages, disciplines, and experience levels, and a guest reader for the literary legacy magazine, december. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in River Teeth and her fiction has previously been published in the Onion River Review.
